Founder/Attorney
David Mueller is the founding member of Mueller Law Group. With over a decade of criminal defense experience, David established the firm to provide more personal focus on his clients’ needs. His professional success led to David’s selection to The National Trial Lawyers: Top 40 Under 40, a professional organization composed of the top trial lawyers from each state or region who are under the age of 40.
David understands that being a criminal defense lawyer means meeting people at what, for many, is the most anxious and vulnerable moment of their lives. His primary focus is on demanding that his clients be treated with the human dignity that all people deserve. David finds that focusing first on decency and respect for his clients most often leads to the best results.
David attended The George Washington School of Law, earning his J.D. in 2012. St. Louis was always where he wanted to return and set down roots, so he returned there to begin practicing shortly after graduation from law school. Since then, David has handled numerous jury trials and represented individuals charged with a wide range of offenses, including murder, sexual assault of a minor, child abuse, and DWI. He is a proud alum of the Missouri Public Defender’s system, where he honed his courtroom skills and gained the experience necessary to represent individuals of every background.
David prepares for every phase of every case with the same meticulous attention to detail. His knowledge of the law and of the rules of evidence has led to numerous dismissals, as well as not guilty verdicts. In one case, he successfully persuaded the judge that video evidence, which the prosecutor said showed his client leaving a murder scene, was inadmissible because the government failed to meet the legal standard for admissibility of evidence. David’s client was found not guilty by a jury of his peers.
Clients work with David because they know he will bring the same calm demeanor, thorough analysis, and sharp intensity to every case. Whether the matter involves a complex Title III wiretap investigation or seemingly simple shoplifting, David investigates every angle to best protect his clients’ liberty and freedom.
David lives in St. Louis with his wife and young children. When he is not working or spending time with his family, David coaches St. Louis youth soccer teams or flies off to Washington D.C. to meet with congressional members as the Advocacy Chair of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Gateway Chapter, where he fights to ensure that the human dignity of individual medical care is protected through federal law.
